Fall Overboard: Oktoberfest Kickoff

Sometimes when we have a Bar Event, we pack as much as we can into a single night. That’s what we’ve done here. You might say we’ve gone overboard. Fall Overboard.

Starting at 4pm Thursday, September 17, the Flingers bar will become a mini-Fall Festival as we celebrate the kickoff to Oktoberfest with a smorgasbord of beverages. We’re tapping-in 4 fall beers, 1 cider, launching our new Fall Cocktail menu featuring 5 new drinks, and giving away Flingers keeper pint glasses with purchase of a full pour.

Here's the lineup, and more details:

Name: Triptych – Alpine Hat Party

Style: Festbier

ABV: 5.8%

Our Description: Caramel maltiness and a little rye breadiness, but crisp and bright with a light hop bite. Super easy drinking (doesn’t feel ‘heavy’) and finishes dry. One of the best of the style.

Name: Great Lakes – Oktoberfest

Style: Marzen

ABV: 6.5%

Our Description: Toasted bread crust, caramel, and a little honeyed biscuit make this a proper malt-party lager, while Munich and Caramel 45 malts add the richer autumnal depth. Mt. Hood hops bring a restrained herbal-spice lift that keeps the sweetness tidy. Smooth, rounded, and clean-finishing. This is Märzen territory through and through, and it’s one of the best out there.

Name: Southern Tier – Maple Warlock

Style: Imperial Pumpkin Stout

ABV: 8.6%

Our Description: Take the flagship Warlock base of pumpkin pie, spice, roasted malts, banana nut bread, coffee and dark chocolate...and now add maple. Pretty much every Fall flavor is found here. Full-bodied and decadent, the pumpkin and maple combo is terrific.

Name: Cigar City – Good Gourd

Style: Imperial Pumpkin Ale

ABV: 8.8%

Our Description: Pumpkin pie without the whipped-cream overload. Real pumpkin brings earthy, squashy sweetness, while Ceylon cinnamon, Jamaican allspice, Zanzibar cloves, nutmeg, and vanilla stack on warm baking-spice depth. The malt keeps it rich and sturdy underneath, so it drinks more like spiced pumpkin bread than liquid candy. Cozy, bold, and FALL. Available with an optional cinnamon sugar rim.

Name: Ace – Pumpkin Cider

Style: Hard Cider

ABV: 5%

Our Description: Cinnamon, cloves & allspice added to fermented apple juice, creating a thin-bodied cider that tastes pretty close to pumpkin pie.

And while supplies last, when you buy a full pour (or four 5oz pours) of the featured drinks, you'll get a Flingers keeper pint glass.

(Flingers keeper glasses only available starting at 4pm 9/17 with the on-site full pour purchase of one of the featured drafts above, or four (4) 5oz pours. Keeper glasses are very limited, are subject to change, and offer is only valid while supplies last. Strict limit of one keeper glass per person.)

Name: Smoked Blackberry Sage

Ingredients:

Our Description: Juicy blackberry puree, fresh lime, and London Dry Gin give this cocktail a bright, tart backbone, while sage syrup and burnt sage add an earthy, aromatic finish.

Name: Dirt Cup Martini

Ingredients:

Our Description: A grown-up spin on the classic dirt cup, this dessert martini blends brownie moonshine, vodka, and dark chocolate syrup for a rich, chocolatey sip finished with an Oreo rim and gummy worms.

Name: Chai White Russian

Ingredients:

Our Description: A cozy twist on the classic White Russian, this cocktail blends vodka, coffee liqueur, chai syrup, and half & half for a creamy sip with warm notes of cinnamon, clove, and fall spice, and a smooth coffee finish.

Name: Browned Butter Maple Pumpkin Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

Our Description: Rich, seasonal fall take on the classic Old Fashioned, this cocktail pairs Buffalo Trace with maple and pumpkin syrups, finished with browned butter bitters for a warm, nutty depth.

Name: Apple Butter Mule

Ingredients:

Our Description: A fall spin on the classic mule, apple butter syrup brings cozy fall flavor, while lime juice and ginger beer keep this mule crisp, bubbly, and refreshing.

With at least 11 new drinks, we’ve gone overboard. The excessive Fall fun starts at 4pm Thu, Sept 17.
