Since we offer online ordering for pickup and delivery, our online ordering hours are the same as our pickup and delivery hours above. However, on busy nights, we occasionally receive a heavy volume of orders that fill-up our ovens and force us to manually turn-off the online ordering system after a certain point. So if you’re inside the online ordering system at 7:30pm on a Friday night, but the system says “closed” when you know we’re open, it could be that we’ve turned it off on purpose to spare you from having an unacceptable wait time. How do we get from where we are, to where you are? This is a good question. It’s our favorite question.
TL;DR: if you’re just using your GPS and for some reason our name won’t come up, our address is 1503 E. Vernon Ave, Bloomington IL. After that, you know how to use your map app. And this is the building you’re looking for:
But for the long version…. as Bloomington-Normal locals, we know two things: 1) this town loves its restaurants, and 2) this town will not tolerate inconvenient locations from its restaurants…. especially locations that require you to use service roads. Ohh man this town has a lot of service roads along Veterans Parkway, and ohh man this town despises them. Sooo many chains come to town year after year, lured by the “exposure and visibility” of being on Veterans Parkway, only to find themselves struggling 2 years later because they downplayed Rule #1 of the Bloomington-Normal Restaurant Scene: if your restaurant is perceived as hard-to-get-to, or hard to get in-and-out of, locals will not consistently come, even if they can see you clearly, and even if you’re good. In Bloomington-Normal, location trumps all.
Fortunately, we know this (because we’re local). So when we moved Flingers out of Downtown Bloomington back in 2015, we avoided anything that required service road access and instead found a fantastic spot just off Veterans Parkway, on Vernon Ave. It’s super easy to get here, from any direction. And at night, look for the bright blue and yellow “Big Cheese Pizza Man” Flingers Logo sign, and you’ll be able to see us clearly.
Take Business 55 South (known locally as Veterans Parkway) and turn right on Vernon Ave. (There’s a Steak ’n Shake on the corner. If you pass Bob Evans, you’ve gone too far.) Once on Vernon, go straight through the first stoplight, then turn left into the Flingers parking lot. (The entrance lane is just west of the building, so use the one that says ENTER. Don’t try to come in through the out lane.)
Take Business 55 North (known locally as Veterans Parkway) and turn left on Vernon Ave. (There’s a Bob Evans near the corner. If you pass the Steak ‘n Shake, you’ve gone too far.) Once on Vernon, go straight through the first stoplight, then turn left into the Flingers parking lot. (The entrance lane is just west of the building, so use the one that says ENTER. Don’t try to come in through the out lane.)
We’re just a short drive from ISU (it’s not walkable, sorry). There are lots of ways to get from ISU to Flingers, but from wherever you start, we recommend getting on Linden St. and taking it to Vernon, then heading East on Vernon. Follow the curves and Flingers will eventually be on your right after you go straight through the stoplight at Towanda Ave. From this direction, the entrance lane is before the building, so use the one that says ENTER. Don’t pass the building and try to come in through the out lane.)
We’re just a short drive from IWU (it’s not walkable, sorry). There are lots of ways to get from IWU to Flingers, but from wherever you start, we recommend getting on Linden St. and taking it to Jersey Ave. (Mostly because Jersey is a wide, residential artery without any stop signs or stoplights…and it’s kinda scenic too). At the end of Jersey, turn left at the Towanda Ave. stoplight, then turn right at the Vernon Ave. stoplight, and Flingers will be quickly on your right. (From this direction, the entrance lane is before the building, so use the one that says ENTER. Don’t pass the building and try to come in through the out lane.)
For years, locals have tried to cut through our parking lot as a shortcut to avoid the stoplight at the Towanda/Vernon intersection. And some customers even still try to sneak into the parking lot that way from Kurt Drive. Please don’t. First, it’s a narrow alley full of potholes. And secondly, our delivery team often uses it to make speedy exits, and we don’t want a head-on pizza collision. Please just use the roads. That’s what they’re for.

Where should we park? This is a good question. It’s our favorite question.
We have a modest parking lot, and there are also spots reserved out front for those with disabilities. Our indoor seating capacity is larger than our parking lot, so even if the lot is full, there’s a good chance we still have a few available tables or seats at the bar. Meaning, if you make your first pass through the lot and there’s nowhere to park, don’t assume there’s no room inside and give up on us. Here’s what you need to know:
Remember, all traffic should enter from the Vernon Ave. entrance on the north side of the building. From there, it’s a one-way loop around the parking lot, as shown below.
If there’s a space in the lot, obviously park in the lot (unless there’s a NO PARKING sign there, as noted in the map below for Drive-Thru Waiting). The lot isn’t huge, so if you’re coming with a group, we’d ask you to please carpool if you CAN. But if the lot is full, here are your backup plans… and the areas to avoid. The likelihood that you’ll actually get ticketed or towed is fairly low, but still… we’d rather be good neighbors and not have to apologize to nearby businesses on your behalf. We know you know how parking works, lol. But if you’re visiting from out-of-town (we welcome a lot of those guests who may be passing through and found us on Google, Yelp, or Trip Advisor!), here are some things we locals take for granted that you may find helpful:

Does Flingers take reservations? This is a good question. It’s our favorite question.
Those are Bloomington-Normal’s favorite pizza nights, so we tend to find ourselves pretty packed inside. As part of our mission to serve all well, we always try to prioritize the people standing right in front of us, and it’s not a great customer experience to walk-in on a busy night, see a bunch of empty tables, and be told you can’t have them because someone else reserved them. So on Friday and Saturday nights, it’s first-come, first-served so everyone feels like they get a fair shake.
Yes! Advance reservations are accepted anytime other than Friday and Saturday nights between 5pm – 9pm. And especially if you’re bringing a large party (more than 8), we highly encourage reserving space in advance so we can push some tables together in preparation.
If you're looking to make a reservation within the next 48 hours, please call 820-8838 and speak to us over the phone. If you're looking to make a reservation further out into the future, you can still call us....but you can also use our Reservation Request Form below, and a staff member will get back to you. Again, though, we do not accept advance reservations on Friday and Saturday nights between 5pm - 9pm.
Ehhhhh….no. Sorry. We’re exploring whether online reservations are right for Flingers, but as of right now, you’ve still got to actually give us a call. Like, with the phone. Just call 820-8838 any time after 11am. Or, if you absolutely do not want to talk on the phone, you can fill out the form below, submit your reservation request, and a Flingers team member will get back with you as soon as possible. If you want a reservation for today, please call! If it's not for a few days, weeks, months... then our nifty form is a good option.
Please do not attempt to make reservation requests via text, nor through our social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), nor through any other 3rd party platform (such as Yelp or Open Table). Flingers does not currently accept reservations through those platforms.
Sure, as long as the Beer Garden is open, and as long as it’s not a Friday or Saturday night between 5pm – 9pm, we’re happy to set you up. Just ask when you call. You can also indicate that preference in the form below.
Yes, we accept large parties, but since it typically means you’ll need to reserve most of the restaurant, there are a few more details to consider. If you’ve been to Flingers, you know our space is basically split down the middle between the “dining room side” and the “bar side.” Often, based on the size of your group, you’ll either want to rent out one or the other.
For bar side reservations of 20 or more people, we charge a $120 room rental fee, and for the dining room side, parties of 35 or more are charged $150. This fee is to reserve the section of the restaurant required to accommodate your group.
Additionally, we strongly encourage big parties (20+) to preorder food, as that really helps the kitchen know how to prep and schedule staff for your large group.

Who loves floor plans? Do YOU love floor plans? Then you’re in the right spot. Check this out!
Above is the first floor plan the architects drafted for us when we moved to our current location on E. Vernon Ave in 2015. It’s not entirely accurate all these years later (for instance, there are no booths in the Bar Side, only high-top tables), but it still gives you a good, quick, representation of the general layout. When you walk in the Main Entrance, the restaurant is on your left, the bar is on your right, and the host stand is right in front of you.
In June 2018, we opened our outdoor Beer Garden! It features a handful of picnic tables and a couple of 4-top tables, and since it faces West, it’s a perfect place to have a beer and a cheesebomb during sunset golden hour.
If we see a blank wall, it’s hard for us to resist drawing all over it, so we commissioned a local artist (Karl at Mad Bean Painting & Design) to paint the logos of some of our favorite area breweries all over the brick. You’ll feel like you’re in a space designed for craft beer drinking…because you are!
I like staying in my car. Do you have a drive-thru window? This is a good question. It’s our favorite question.
Yes, we have a drive-thru window for pickup. Some call it pickup, some call it take-out, others call it carry-out. 2020 introduced us to the term curbside pickup. (And fun fact: overseas they call it take away.) But yes, we have a pick-up window…which means in the middle of the harsh central Illinois winters, you don’t have to get out of your car, and our crew doesn’t have to leave our heated building.

As mentioned above, there are exceptions to the “don’t order AT the window” rule. One exceptions, in fact.
The Lightning Lunch is our speedy lunch program that offers pizza by-the-slice, side salads, and combo deals every weekday from 11am – 1pm. Since the point is that it’s fresh & ready when you get here, ordering at the window is the fastest option possible! During the 11am – 1pm time frame, we’ll have the combo menu available at the window, so just pull up, ring the bell, place your order at the window, and we’ll get your slices and salads in a lightning flash.
Do you deliver? And how far do you go, because I live on the edge of town? This is a good question. It’s our favorite question. The first answer is yes, Flingers delivers.
Okay, let’s get to it. You want to know whether we deliver to your area. We probably do. We’ll go pretty much anywhere in the area (even outside of Bloomington-Normal proper) as long as you reach certain minimum order thresholds. And as is standard throughout the industry, the same small $5 delivery fee is attached to every delivery, regardless of the area. At Flingers, pizza delivery is one of our core services, so we don’t outsource it. No need to dash doors or eat uber-awkwardly. We have our own Flingers delivery drivers, they know all the best routes through Bloomington-Normal, and they’ll arrive at your house or apartment with a pizza in their hand and a smile on their face. You’ll know it’s us by our unmistakable blue and yellow car toppers.

In addition to our 7 consecutive victories for Best Overall Restaurant in the annual Readers’ Choice voting (2020-2026), Flingers also won the Best Delivery award back in 2017 until the Pantagraph stopped including it as a category (for some reason). So we may still be reigning champs in that, who knows… Point being, we may not have the largest pizza delivery fleet in town, but we believe we have the best. And this award is at least one piece of evidence backing up that claim.

But first, let’s not overlook the good news: we DO have online ordering. Yes, we know it’s commonplace these days, but we’re just a humble, one-location, local pizza pub, and not every restaurant has online ordering yet. We do. So yes, you can get pizza without having to talk to an actual human person on the phone! Yay technology!

Online ordering has become a huge part of the Flingers operation, so there are buttons literally everywhere on this site for you to hop right in and start crafting an order. (Like up at the top, where it says ORDER). And also this button right here:
Order Now!For the most part, it’s pretty self-explanatory. If you’re a returning customer, LOGIN. If you’re a new customer who wants to become a returning customer (this is our favorite type of customer), REGISTER. Or if you’re from out-of-town and/or still paranoid about entering information on the Internet and you want to quietly acquire pizza in the tradition of a stealth ninja, go for GUEST ORDER.
Then select whether you’re ordering for Delivery or whether you’ll be coming to get it in-person at our Drive-Thru Pickup Window. After that, bounce through the tabs and order something great. The system does NOT save your credit card information (even if you Register), so each time you come back, you’ll have to re-enter your payment info. Pain in the butt, yes. But it’s probably for everyone’s protection.
Only a couple of things. Namely, alcohol of all types (including beer, sorry), those paper freebie certificates and other merch.
If you won or received any freebie certificate (such as Free Pizza Friday or a Keg Blow card), those are also not able to be used via online ordering. We don’t have a way to apply them. Sorry. You can still certainly use them for delivery or pickup, but you’ll have to place your order via a scary, awkward phone call with a human person instead of using the online ordering system.
And other merch. Because there’s a separate place to buy that.
If we had a dollar for every time someone asked us this, we’d have $1,334. Here’s the deal. We occasionally experience an inordinately heavy volume of pickup and delivery orders on Friday and Saturday nights. We are VERY grateful for this. You people are incredible, and we appreciate your support! But…we also only have so much space in the oven. And once orders come rolling in back-to-back-to-back, it can get a little…backed up. So if you were to place a new order after a certain point, your wait time would be unacceptable. Since we don’t want to deliver a poor customer experience, we may proactively, manually, switch-off the online ordering system on-purpose because we’ve already accepted enough orders to keep our ovens at capacity for several hours. So if you’re inside our online ordering system any night and it says ‘Store Closed’ when we should be open, it does NOT mean we are “closed overall.” Please call us instead (820-8838) and our staff can fill you in on the wait situation. Thank you!

Yes! You can add gift cards to your order for either delivery or pickup! Just select Gift Cards from the online ordering menu, pick the amount you want, and checkout! And of course you can order them over the phone, too.
Yes! If you were lucky enough to receive a Flingers Pizza Pub gift card, you can use it to pay for your online order! This only applies to the little plastic cards that look like credit cards. Sorry, but the paper certificates you might have received from blowing a keg, Free Pizza Friday or as a result of a donation can't be used online. When we move those to fully digital we'll let you know.

We’re having a fundraiser, will you donate pizza? This is a good question. Here’s how we handle the abundance of requests we receive.
Flingers exists to serve all well, from our customers to our employees to our vendors, and yes, especially to our community. We do get a lot of requests, though, so here’s how we handle it.
We have a heart to help, however, like most businesses, we’re unable to fulfill every request we receive. As such, our contributions will be limited to requests made by official non-profits, and/or (if not connected to an official non-profit) recurring annual charitable events or programs with an established history in the community.
We will be unable to fulfill donation requests for special one-time events and fundraisers. Also, when we are able to fulfill donation requests, they will be fulfilled in the form of gift certificates. We will not be able to make and deliver free, donated pizzas to an event or fundraiser.
Additionally, so that our staff can better manage these requests, all inquiries must utilize the online form below.
